Most photographers aim for capturing scenes at their most beautiful. Immortalise the beauty of the subject as much as possible.
But reality is a bit more ragged than that, and what is beautiful today may look a lot less attractive tomorrow. Even the most beautiful thing can crumble down to a chaotic pile of rubble.
What remains then is a different kind of beauty, more substance and less appearance. Maybe not instant visually pleasing, but the backstory sure gets more interesting.
